Chris Hallam #HallamStrong

We are heartbroken to announce that Chris Hallam’s battle with melanoma came to an end yesterday, July 16, 2019.  Chris was our guest speaker in 2016 when he was given a year to live after being diagnosed with stage IV melanoma.  Over 1,000 runners and walkers cheered as he announced that he would outlive his one year diagnosis.  He returned in 2017, 2018, and 2019.  He outlived his diagnosis by almost four years, defied the odds, made us laugh, made us cry, and most importantly, made us listen.

Each time he spoke, you could hear a pin drop amongst 1,000+ people in attendance.  There were so many words of wisdom to take away from his speeches.

Since his passing, Facebook has been flooded with pictures, memories, and stories about Chris.  Most of them involve friends and family sharing the impact that he had on their lives in so many different aspects.

This year, our 5k shirt color was heather red.  We asked Chris to choose the color this year.  He chose this color because his was an Ohio State University alumni.

We want to thank you all for attending our events and supporting us.  Through events such as our 5k, we are able to fund treatments that helped Chris and so many others have more time with their family and friends.

Please see the links below for his obituary and his speeches from our 5k.  Please take a moment to listen.
